Fuller receives fellowship from American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

Buies Creek—Dr. Steve Fuller, associate professor of pharmacy at Campbell University, has been named a Fellow of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Academic Leadership program.

The Academic Leadership Fellows program was developed to meet the needs of members, administrators and faculty of the AACP.

According to the AACP, leaders in academic pharmacy have emerged from colleges and schools throughout the history of the AACP to address the many challenges facing academic pharmacy. Those challenges continue to increase in number and intensity, necessitating more proactive leadership and effective management throughout the academy.

“Dr. Steve Fuller is a superb clinician who has been a tremendous asset to the Campbell University School of Pharmacy,” said Dean Ronald Maddox. “Furthermore, it is my opinion that the training he’ll receive in the AACP Academic Leadership program will serve him and the school well.”

AACP Academic Leadership Fellows must participate in four program meetings over the course of a year, covering interpersonal competencies for leadership, practical management responsibilities and administrative leadership in the external advocacy of the pharmacy profession.

Only two individuals may be nominated from each institution. Selection of Fellows is made on both an individual and a cohort basis.

Fuller graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia. Fuller received a Doctor of Pharmacy from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He is a pharmacist at Cary HealthCare Associates Clinic in Cary, N.C.

His published articles have appeared in numerous professional journals and texts, including “US Pharmacist” and the “American Journal of Health System Pharmacists.”
