Buies Creek -- Pop singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat and alternative rock group Anberlin will be headlining Campbell University’s spring concert on April 19, 2008. The event will also feature special guest Jason Reeves and a performance by the winner of Campbell’s Battle of the Bands contest to be held April 5.
“We hope this diverse group of performers will appeal to a wide variety of Campbell students and members of our local community,” said Dusty Creech, concert chair for Campbell’s Campus Activities Board. “We’re really excited to bring these artists to Buies Creek.”
Prior to being signed to a record label, California-based Colbie Caillat was the No. 1 unsigned artist on MySpace for four months, thanks in large part to her hit song “Bubbly.” She eventually inked a contract with Universal Music, which released her debut album “Coco.” Over one million copies of her album have already been sold.
The Winter Haven, Florida alternative rock group Anberlin has also found success in recent years, touring with acts like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. They have produced four albums, selling over 400,000 copies. Their first major label debut is expected to be released in mid-2008.
Advance tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 17 to students and the general public. Students can pick up tickets at the information desk at the Wallace Student Center. Tickets for the public will be available Monday at www.campbelluniversity.tickets.musictoday.com.
