Graduation Information & Instructions

Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008
Time: Report for Line-Up at 9:00 a.m. in cap and gown
Place: The Fred McCall Practice gymnasium in the rear of the Pope Convocation Center. Please park in the parking lot at the rear of the Convocation Center and follow the signs to the entrance of the practice gymnasium.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Please arrive on time in your cap and gown. Lists will be strategically placed around the entrances to the practice gymnasium. Find your name among the list of candidates. Corresponding to your name, you will see a number which is your chair number in the practice gymnasium and indicates your position in the line-up. Please find your seat promptly upon arrival. We will begin reviewing instructions and the order of the program at 9:30.

The processional begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. We will proceed in single file from the practice gymnasium to the main floor of the Convocation Center where candidates will be seated in the reserved seats in the center section of the seating area. The orientation and lay-out of the seats for the candidates on the floor of the Convocation Center will be identical to the lay-out of the seat assignments in the practice gymnasium. Please be properly attired in a University issued cap and gown. When candidates pick up a cap and gown from the University, they reserve their place in the line-up!

Following the Graduation on Saturday, December 13, 2008, candidates may obtain their diplomas from the practice gymnasium immediately following the graduation ceremony. Please note that the diplomas of candidates with account balances will be held by the Business Office. The Registrar’s Office holds the diplomas of candidates who graduate with honors. These diplomas are returned to the printer where the appropriate honor is added. Normally this service requires from 4-6 weeks. When the diploma is returned to us, we will mail it directly to the student.
